Times: Tuesday, December 28, 1886, Issue 31954 – “A message from Portland dated December 24, states that the schooner Aurora, of Carnarvon, grounded on rocks near the Lower Light. Extent of the damage unknown. She was towed off by a Weymouth tug leaking; pumpers have been employed.”
